Knob	Type	Values	Default	What it does
`style`	choice	`rural` `modern` `pillar`	`rural`	rural (the classic round-topped tunnel box on a wooden post), modern (a square steel box with a newspaper tube on a slim metal post), pillar (a box set into a waist-high brick pillar with a stone cap).
`paint`	choice	`black` `red` `green` `silver` `white` `navy`	`black`	Colour of the box: black, red, green, silver, white or navy. The flag stays signal red (yellow on a red box).
`flag`	toggle	on / off	`true`	Raise the side flag (outgoing mail waiting). Off lays it flat along the box. Either way it is rigged so it can swing.
`planter`	toggle	on / off	`false`	A little ring of flowers and a stone edge round the foot of the post.
