Mine Cart
A riveted steel mine cart on four flanged wheels (0.6 m narrow gauge), loaded with ore, coal or gold nuggets, standing on a short piece of track. The wheels are spin parts that roll with distance along +Z; turn rails off to run it on your own track (the wheel flanges then rest on y = 0, treads 3 cm up).

Use it
Code for the specimen as it is set up above; it follows your knobs.
import { createAsset } from 'https://gaitkit.com/cdn/mine-cart.mjs';
const mineCart = createAsset();
scene.add(mineCart); // rests on y = 0, front faces +Z
let dist = 0;
renderer.setAnimationLoop(() => {
dist += speed * clock.getDelta();
mineCart.position.z = dist;
mineCart.userData.tick(dist); // wheels roll exactly with the distance
renderer.render(scene, camera);
});import { useMemo, useRef } from 'react';
import { useFrame } from '@react-three/fiber';
import { createAsset } from 'https://gaitkit.com/cdn/mine-cart.mjs';
export function MineCart({ speed = 1 }) {
const model = useMemo(() => createAsset(), []);
const dist = useRef(0);
useFrame((_, dt) => {
dist.current += speed * dt;
model.position.z = dist.current;

animator.Play("Loop");
animator.speed = speed / 1.131 // one Loop = 1.131 m of travelUse the gaitkit MCP server: get_variant({ "id": "mine-cart", "want": "default look" })
then place the result and drive it with userData.tick(distance).

| Knob | Type | Values | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|---|
load | choice | ore coal gold empty | ore | What the cart carries: ore (grey rock with gold flecks), coal (black lumps), gold (a heap of nuggets), empty. |
tub | choice | rust steel grey red green | rust | Tub paint: rust (worn brown steel), steel grey, red, green. |
rails | toggle | on / off | true | A 2.4 m piece of narrow-gauge track with timber sleepers under the cart. |
seed | range | 1 to 40, step 1 | 4 | Reshapes the heap of ore, coal or gold. Same seed always builds the same cart. |
Presets: gold strike {"load":"gold","tub":"steel grey"} · coal tub {"load":"coal","tub":"red","seed":9} · abandoned cart {"load":"empty","tub":"rust","rails":true}
