Space Fighter
A one-seat sci-fi starfighter about 12 m long: an angular hull with a bubble cockpit, glowing thrusters and a choice of arrow, gull or twin-boom wings, on three landing legs or with them tucked up. Thruster flames pulse and the canopy, engines and nav lights glow at night; it cruises 6 m up.

Code for the specimen as it is set up above; it follows your knobs.

const spaceFighter = createAsset();
scene.add(spaceFighter); // rests on y = 0, front faces +Z
let dist = 0;

dist += speed * clock.getDelta();
spaceFighter.position.set(0, groundY + spaceFighter.userData.altitude, dist);
spaceFighter.userData.tick(dist); // wings beat with the distance
renderer.render(scene, camera);
});import { useMemo, useRef } from 'react';

dist.current += speed * dt;

| Knob | Type | Values | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|---|
style | choice | arrow gull twin-boom | arrow | Wing layout: arrow (a wide swept delta with tip fins), gull (wings that kink down like a gull, with forward-swept tips), twin-boom (two long engine booms joined to the cockpit hull by a straight wing). |
scheme | choice | white crimson sand stealth mint | white | Colours: white (with orange trim, blue thrusters), crimson (gunmetal and red, orange thrusters), sand (tan and teal), stealth (black with cyan glow) or mint (pale green with gold). |
engines | range | 1 to 3, step 1 | 2 | Number of main thrusters at the back: 1, 2 or 3. On the twin-boom the booms always carry engines; an odd number adds one in the middle. |
gear | toggle | on / off | true | Three landing legs with pads. Off = legs tucked away for flight; the ship then rests on its belly. |
Presets: patrol interceptor {"style":"arrow","scheme":"white","engines":2} · night raider {"style":"gull","scheme":"stealth","engines":3,"gear":false} · desert hauler {"style":"twin-boom","scheme":"sand","engines":1}
