Cow
A farm cow about 1.45 m at the shoulder and 2.6 m nose to tail, in black-and-white dairy, brown, shaggy highland or cream coats. Walks with a real lateral-sequence gait: front knees bend forward, hind hocks bend back, cloven hooves stay planted, the head nods and the tail swishes.

Passed the validator: real scale, rests on y = 0, front faces +Z, deterministic, planted feet never slide past 1 mm.
Use it
Code for the specimen as it is set up above; it follows your knobs.
import { createAsset } from 'https://gaitkit.com/cdn/cow.mjs';
import { walker } from 'https://gaitkit.com/runtime/walk.mjs';
const cow = createAsset();
scene.add(cow); // rests on y = 0, front faces +Z
const gait = walker(cow, { ground: (x, z) => terrainHeight(x, z) }); // or omit ground for a flat floor
let dist = 0;
renderer.setAnimationLoop(() => {
dist += speed * clock.getDelta();
cow.position.z = dist;
gait.poseAt(dist); // feet stay planted, at any frame rate
renderer.render(scene, camera);
});import { useMemo, useRef } from 'react';
import { useFrame } from '@react-three/fiber';
import { createAsset } from 'https://gaitkit.com/cdn/cow.mjs';
import { walker } from 'https://gaitkit.com/runtime/walk.mjs';
export function Cow({ speed = 1 }) {
const model = useMemo(() => createAsset(), []);
const gait = useMemo(() => walker(model), [model]);
const dist = useRef(0);
useFrame((_, dt) => {
dist.current += speed * dt;
model.position.z = dist.current;
gait.poseAt(dist.current); // feet stay planted, at any frame rate
});
return <primitive object={model} />;
}# Import cow.glb (download below). It carries an in-place "Walk" animation.
@onready var anim: AnimationPlayer = $Cow/AnimationPlayer
func _physics_process(delta):
velocity = transform.basis.z * speed
move_and_slide()
anim.play("Walk")
anim.speed_scale = speed / 1.05 # Walk clip covers 1.05 m/s at 1x// Import cow.glb with glTFast (com.unity.cloud.gltfast).
animator.Play("Walk");
animator.speed = speed / 1.05 // Walk clip covers 1.05 m/s at 1xUse the gaitkit MCP server: get_variant({ "id": "cow", "want": "default look" })
then place the result and walk it with walker() so the feet stay planted.

| Knob | Type | Values | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|---|
breed | choice | black-white brown highland cream | black-white | Coat and breed: black-white (dairy cow with black patches and a pink udder), brown (warm brown dairy cow with a pale muzzle), highland (shaggy ginger coat, long wide horns and a fringe over the eyes), cream (pale beef cow). |
horns | toggle | on / off | true | Horns on the head. Highland horns are long and sweep wide; the others are short. Off = polled (hornless). |
bell | toggle | on / off | false | A leather collar with a brass cow bell under the neck (alpine pasture look). |
markings | range | 1 to 9, step 1 | 3 | Seed for where the black patches fall on a black-white cow (each number is a different cow); also varies the fur tufts of a highland. |
size | range | 0.45 to 1.2, step 0.05 | 1 | Uniform scale. 1 is a grown cow about 1.45 m at the shoulder; 0.5 with horns off reads as a calf; 1.15 is a big bull. |
Presets: dairy cow {"breed":"black-white","horns":false,"markings":5} · highland bull {"breed":"highland","horns":true,"size":1.1} · alpine calf {"breed":"brown","horns":false,"bell":true,"size":0.5}
