Hexapod Tank
A walking tank about 4 m long: an armoured hull on six insect-style legs with a cannon turret on top. Walks in an alternating tripod gait (three feet always down) while the turret sweeps and the barrel nods.

Use it
Code for the specimen as it is set up above; it follows your knobs.
import { createAsset } from 'https://gaitkit.com/cdn/hexapod-tank.mjs';
import { walker } from 'https://gaitkit.com/runtime/walk.mjs';
const hexapodTank = createAsset();
scene.add(hexapodTank); // rests on y = 0, front faces +Z
const gait = walker(hexapodTank, { ground: (x, z) => terrainHeight(x, z) }); // or omit ground for a flat floor
let dist = 0;
renderer.setAnimationLoop(() => {
dist += speed * clock.getDelta();
hexapodTank.position.z = dist;
gait.poseAt(dist); // feet stay planted, at any frame rate
renderer.render(scene, camera);
});import { useMemo, useRef } from 'react';
import { useFrame } from '@react-three/fiber';
import { createAsset } from 'https://gaitkit.com/cdn/hexapod-tank.mjs';

const model = useMemo(() => createAsset(), []);

}# Import hexapod-tank.glb (download below). It carries an in-place "Walk" animation.
@onready var anim: AnimationPlayer = $HexapodTank/AnimationPlayer
func _physics_process(delta):
velocity = transform.basis.z * speed
move_and_slide()
anim.play("Walk")
anim.speed_scale = speed / 2 # Walk clip covers 2 m/s at 1x// Import hexapod-tank.glb with glTFast (com.unity.cloud.gltfast).
animator.Play("Walk");
animator.speed = speed / 2 // Walk clip covers 2 m/s at 1xUse the gaitkit MCP server: get_variant({ "id": "hexapod-tank", "want": "default look" })
then place the result and walk it with walker() so the feet stay planted.

| Knob | Type | Values | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|---|
paint | choice | olive arctic desert night | olive | Hull colours: olive (military green, amber trim), arctic (white with red trim), desert (sand with teal trim), night (black with cyan sensors). |
weapon | choice | cannon twin radar | cannon | Turret fit: cannon (one long barrel), twin (two short autocannons), radar (unarmed command walker with a spinning radar dish). |
legLength | range | 0.8 to 1.3, step 0.05 | 1 | Scales the six legs and so the ride height and stride. 0.8 = low crawler hugging the ground; 1.3 = tall stilt-legged strider. |
skirts | toggle | on / off | true | Armour skirt plates along both flanks of the hull. |
Presets: assault crawler {"paint":"olive","weapon":"cannon","legLength":0.85} · polar command {"paint":"arctic","weapon":"radar","legLength":1.2} · night hunter {"paint":"night","weapon":"twin","skirts":false}
