Gorilla
A 1.5 m-tall knuckle-walking gorilla (a silverback stands about 1.7 m upright), with long powerful arms, short legs, a crested head and a silver saddle on the back. Walks on its knuckles in the diagonal-sequence gait of a primate on IK limbs: elbows bend back, knees bend forward, fists and feet stay planted; the head bobs.

Use it
Code for the specimen as it is set up above; it follows your knobs.
import { createAsset } from 'https://gaitkit.com/cdn/gorilla.mjs';
import { walker } from 'https://gaitkit.com/runtime/walk.mjs';
const gorilla = createAsset();
scene.add(gorilla); // rests on y = 0, front faces +Z
const gait = walker(gorilla, { ground: (x, z) => terrainHeight(x, z) }); // or omit ground for a flat floor
let dist = 0;
renderer.setAnimationLoop(() => {
dist += speed * clock.getDelta();
gorilla.position.z = dist;
gait.poseAt(dist); // feet stay planted, at any frame rate
renderer.render(scene, camera);
});import { useMemo, useRef } from 'react';
import { useFrame } from '@react-three/fiber';

@onready var anim: AnimationPlayer = $Gorilla/AnimationPlayer
func _physics_process(delta):
velocity = transform.basis.z * speed
move_and_slide()
anim.play("Walk")
anim.speed_scale = speed / 1.15 # Walk clip covers 1.15 m/s at 1x// Import gorilla.glb with glTFast (com.unity.cloud.gltfast).
animator.Play("Walk");
animator.speed = speed / 1.15 // Walk clip covers 1.15 m/s at 1xUse the gaitkit MCP server: get_variant({ "id": "gorilla", "want": "default look" })
then place the result and walk it with walker() so the feet stay planted.

| Knob | Type | Values | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|---|
silverback | toggle | on / off | true | Adult male: a silver-grey saddle across the back, a tall crest on the head and a broader build. Off = a female or young male (blackback). |
coat | choice | lowland mountain brown | lowland | Fur: lowland (short dark-grey fur with a reddish crown), mountain (longer, shaggier black fur), brown (brown-black, like a Cross River gorilla). |
shag | range | 0 to 1, step 0.1 | 0.4 | How shaggy the fur looks: 0 is sleek, 1 a long rough mountain coat. |
size | range | 0.4 to 1.15, step 0.05 | 1 | Uniform scale. 1 is a full-grown animal about 1.5 m tall on its knuckles; 0.45 reads as a juvenile. |
